Angry Coast Guard Rams Another Civilian Vessel

What is it with them lately?

Several people were injured, some seriously, in a boating accident which apparently involved a Coast Guard vessel during the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights Sunday night, said Maurice Luque, spokesman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. One of the injured, a child, wound up at Harbor Island, where paramedics performed CPR before taking him by ambulance to a hospital, Luque said.
An additional four people wound up at Shelter Island, where they were treated by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to the hospital, the spokesman said. Another two people were also hurt and were being treated on Shelter Island by paramedics.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the accident.
Preliminary reports indicate a Coast Guard vessel struck a civilian boat during the parade of lights, Luque said. There were 13 people aboard both vessels and everyone has been accounted for, the spokesman said.

Sounds like 11 weeks of classes and OICNW assessments are just what they need.

SAN DIEGO – The Coast Guard filed criminal charges Thursday against four petty officers who were in a patrol boat that slammed into a civilian craft during a Christmas parade on San Diego Bay, killing an 8-year-old boy and injuring five others.
