    Default Stormy Western Pacific

    A developing storm low over the Western Pacific near 46N 169E at 1200z 24th is forecast to move rapidly northeastward into the Bering Sea with max winds/seas to force 10-12 during the next 24-36 hours then diminishes as the low moves overland. A new storm low is forecast to develop eastward of Japan within the next 24-36hours then turns northeast to north moving over the westernmost Bering Sea in about 72hours with winds/seas also forces 10-12.

    You simply gotta love that wintertime North Pacific and Bering Sea! No sailor one can say they've showed their mettle till they've gone through that (of course, the North Atlantic between Greenland and Iceland this time of year is its own version of hell!). Then there's the Southern Ocean and Barent's Sea.

    The next day the storm caused some havoc along the Alaskan coast although I am not sure about the 120mph wind speed quoteed.
