Wow 10talents and OS are bringin the heat. If they keep this up then there won't be anyone around to post.
For the Ordinaryseamen Anthony.
I have been trying to figure out a way I could help you, But Im unemployed myself. I would like to encourage everyone here to try and help if they can. His efforts that have benifited many, and if diligence will certainly make him a great employee. Come on Capts. Im sure there is someone with some pull. Sure would hate to lose him here!!!
I too am unemployed at the moment. Now with the new administration aimed at the pocketbook of the oil companies it is only going to get worse. http://www.rigzone.com/news/article.asp?a_id=73471
The government needs to realize that the oil companies have more power than they do. If they want to construct obstacles for them to work they can easily take their productions to countries that offer little or no resistance and they still make huge profits. More jobs are lost domestically and the recession becomes a depression. Somebody needs to explain the facts of life to these so called leaders before they create a monster that we will all fear.

OS are you still in Houston![]()
Not so fast Babalooie...the Gulf of Mexico is one of the most attractive offshore provinces in the world for no other reason than it is literally right next door to the world's greatest petroleum market. Why do you think that foreign majors have flocked to the GoM in droves? Whatever new political rules the new Admin might make the majors play by, they will still be playing here!
You can bet your Boots & Coots on that one pardner!
10talents- still here. I have done several preliminary interviews and have been asked to stay in the area so I can do follow up interviews- but as yet no concrete dates have been set....So I'm enjoying sunny Houston

This position is not a bad gig, if you don't want to make any money. But, live in a nice 1 sq mile section of Andros. Great fishing and clear water. The USN has a base located there. AUTEC (Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center) similar to Reagan Test Site in the Pacific. They do provide housing, in the loosest sense. I was dragging a barge loaded with all kinds of supplies (beer, food & torpedos, with the occasional hellfire missle and fire bees boats). They provide air transport from West Palm Beach. And you can get a cheap flight back to the states. Explosives? Well, they are torpedos and after they are fired the Vessels go out and retreive them. To the best of my knowledge, no explosions that I have heard of. They do have a VFW, Beach House & TFC night club there. Don't expect to go chasing any tail down there. Either married or girlfriends of civilian and navy workers there.
