Default How to document time for deck license

    Hi Everyone,

First let me say this is a great forum. I have learned a lot already reading some of the older posts. Now for my question.

I currently work for a towing company (harbor assist). I work as a licensed engineer. I would like to get my towing endorsement. We have a 3 man crew and I spend just as much time on deck, as I do in the engine room. How should I document my time. I don't want to lose my A/E L.O. in the process. Any ideas about the quickest way to achieve this?

    Thanks

    Jeff

If you work on deck you'll need to get your company to write your time as deckhand/engineer and that should give you the deck time you need. I don't think you're in danger of losing your engineering license no matter what you do.
